Hi, I'm from Lyon! I love Morocco, my boyfriend is from Marrakesh but he lives in Lyon now! We are planning to move to Marrakesh for some months or even a year! Is it a good idea, can someone give me some advices?

Hi Lyon! Marrakesh is a beautiful city and lotof foreigners including a large French community live there permanently, established businesses and they doing well.
Are you planning on moving temporary or permanently? You have mentioned few months or a year that's like extended vacation and not moving It's also a good idea to visit for few months and get the feel of the country before making a final decision.
Morocco economy is doing really well, much better than most countries in recession. so it offers a great potential and opportunities. My girlfriend and I live in Florida, USA and we are planning on moving to Morocco but we are trying to save some money so we can start a businesss there Inshaalah. The only advice for you is Morocco is not that cheap as most of people think since it's "3rd world country" it's good to be financial secure and have enough money to start a life there. actually it will make your move much easier and smooth.
other than that I will say you guys go for it. Morocco is an awesome country.

Marrakesh is a very nice city, it's modern and full of French people, you can have new friends quickly!

I'm moving there in May for probably a year, maybe more. I'm still looking at apartments.
