Default Looking for a partner to travel to fez and Essouaira music festivals

I will be traveling on my own to the Fez festival of Sacred Music (June 4-12) and the Gnawa Festival in Essouaira (June 24-28), and I'm looking for a partner, preferably female, to share accommodation. I'm having trouble finding reasonably-priced hotels that have single rooms. I'd like to stay somewhere cheapish but not a dive. I would be happy to hear from anyone who would be interested or who has any suggestions or relevant information.

thanks

Nice, You picked the best musical events in Morocco! or at least my favorite ones.
Where are you coming from? Where are you looking for hotels? I'm sure the prices are higher during those days, What's your budget per day? I will try to help finding you something.
The companion deal sounds more interesting and efficient hopefully someone shows up with similar interest
Oh btw, Welcome to GM.

Hi Abdel,

Thanks for responding to me so quickly. I am very excited about coming to these festivals -- it is really one of my life dreams to travel in Morocco and come to the festivals.

I will be coming from Israel or Egypt, possibly through Spain, but I can meet a partner in Fez, so it doesn't matter where they come from. I have contacted Helen at Fez Riads and she is also checking things for me.

I would like to be in the Medina in both cities, or possibly in Fez el-Jdid -- somewhere that is walking distance from all the festival venues, and where it is safe for a woman alone to walk at night after the concerts. In terms of budget, I don't have a set amount per day. I would like my expenses to be as low as possible but it is important for me to be in a guesthouse that is decent, safe and clean. If possible, I would like to find something up to 200 dirhams per night.

Many thanks for your help!

Ruthi

Hi Ruthi and Shalom I'm sure you will be able to find something within that price range but I'm not sure about Riads.
I will do a search for you and see what i can do to help. give me few days, I will keep you updated

Thanks Abdel -- I really appreciate your help. It doesn't need to be a riad, just clean and in a safe area.

Do you live in Morocco?

Apparently even regular hotels are called Riads in Fez. I did a search but seems most of them are more than your asking price.
You can try this GoMorocco tool to find cheap accommodations:
GoMorocco: book Morocco
Let me know if you find something that interests you.
I'm Moroccan but currently living in the USA, If I was in Morocco i would take care of it personally.

Thanks

Fez, huh?

Hey Abdel, how far is that from Rabat? I'll be down there by then, I should stop by.

Hey Abdel,

Thanks for all your help. I seem to be set for a hotel in Essouira, and hopefully soon in Fez as well (hopefully I will do a homestay there -- Ziyarates Fes -- sounds cool and good prices too). Thank you for the link -- I'm sure it will be helpful.

Again, thanks. It's very nice to be so warmly received on a forum.
