Default La Carte National - Timeframe ?

Salaam Everyone!

Im wondering about those of you who have applied for La Carte National from ur moroccan embassy outside of Morocco, how long does it normally take for u to receive the card? Does it come to your house or do you go and get it from the consulate?

Salaam

Jamal

Hi Jamal09 - Welcome to Go Morocco. I lost my CIN myself and i didn't apply for it at the Moroccan consulate, I'm waiting until I go to Morocco and apply for it there. Anyway assuming you are living in the USA here's the info you are seeking:

Quote:
National ID Card

Contact an ID Officer at 212-758-2625 (ext: 307 or 309)

To renew your CNIE, to get a duplicate CNIE (in case your card has been lost or stolen), or if you are applying for a cnie for the very first time (at age 16), your presence at the consulate general of the kingdom of morocco is mandatory for a new set of fingerprints.
Please download the form bellow and fill it out (this form is necessary even if you are registred with us & you have the original of your Carte Nationale). In Case you have The expired "Carte d'Identite Nationale" you will need the following:

Your expired "Carte d'Identite Nationale"
A copy of the first 3 pages of your passport
Your original birth certificate or a copy of the "livret d'etat civil"
An application form (fiche individuelle de renseignements)
Four pictures front view on white font (3.5 x 4.5cm)
A money order in the amount of 15us$ payable to the consulate of morocco
A copy of your consular card (or an extra 10us$ money order and one picture to have one issued)
Fees for returning your mail are not included in the fees above. To ensure reception of your cnie, please include a prepaid express mail envelope with the $16.50 stamp, obtained from the post office. Please note that this is the only mailing method accepted.
Ps. The CNIE is issued and renewed in Rabat and processing it takes 6 to 8 weeks to be returned to the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in New York.
You may follow up on your CNIE application after 8 weeks by calling the ID Officer at: (212) 758 2625 ext. 307 or 309 or sending an e-mail to info@moroccanconsulate.com.
If you are not in the US, I'm sure it's the same procedure. Good luck!
I will also move this thread to the Moroccan Expats forum
