Tipping Tipping at restaurants is about 10-15% of the bill, or a few Dirhams at smaller joints. You will probably be expected to pay a small fee for many sundry services like those by self-appointed guides at tourist destinations (in this context, watch out for the ‘spruikers’ of Tangier) and people who carry things for you/show you shops. For many Moroccans, this is the only way to earn their living, so be generous if you have received a useful service. There is no need to feel browbeaten into paying when you don’t want to. |
