Default Morocco during ramadan.

My partner and I are travelling to Morocco for 3 weeks during the month of ramadan and we have heard that apart from being respectful and secretive when eating during the day everything should be fine. I am just curious to know if there will be expectations regarding clothing and such. Obviously I will not be walking around in a bikini or anything like that but do I need to keep my shoulders covered etc? Also how easy is travelling around the country? We are flying to Casablanca but want to make our way down through Essaouira to Agadir, then on to Marakesh. Not excluding a couple of other places. We do not drive so cannot rent a car and I'm wondering if this will be a problem?

Hey polly8291 - welcome to GoMorocco. You do not have to cover your shoulders, it will be a hot period in Morocco. Morocco is not Iran so you guys will be just fine just avoid anything that attract attention: mini skirts etc.
If you don't drive and planning on renting a car, the train is your best option: you can take the train from the airport to Marrakesh and they offer connections to Essaouira and Agadir.

Enjoy your trip and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you! That's very helpful. We are also wondering about alcahol, we will not be wanting to get drunk every night but it would be nice to enjoy an evening drink every so often, will they still be serving alcahol in restuarants etc? Thanks for you help! Polly.

Understandable, The liquor stores are closed in Ramadan but you can order drinks in a restaurant or from the room service/hotel you are staying in. If you find problems let me know i can get you alcohol j/k but yes we all know that tourists need to enjoy their time. so the answer is don't worry about alcohol you will get your drink

Marjane still sells booze during Ramadan, no?

If not, August is going to be a long month...

No their liquor section will close during Ramadan. You need to stock up!
the good thing is you will still be able to buy booze somewhere since you are not Moroccan maybe from a restaurant/bar or a hotel. All liquor stores will be closed!
