Hi all,

What language(s) would you recommend someone travelling to Morocco to learn a few phrases from? That is, which language would be most useful for me during travel in Morocco.

I can speak Spanish and know that French and Arabic are the most widely spoken languages. I assume pretty much everyone can speak Arabic, and then French and Spanish-speakers are in the minorities?

Thanks for any feedback!

Default languages in Morocco

Moroccan Arabic known as Darija is the land language. French is second. I will recommend you learning the basic sentences in French since you are familiar with Spanish. Spanish is spoken in the north of Morocco.
We included a French and Arabic forums for this purpose, where you can ask for help translating and learning the basics
Good luck and let us know if you need help to learn

Hi, all four languages are recommended to be spoken when travelling to Morocco, first of wich are of course Arabic and french. English and spanish are of the same importance. in the north of Morocco, namely in Tangier and Tetuan, Spanish is widely spoken; however in the south English is more spoken.
