Morocco-Virginia State Trade more than doubles Since the signing of the Moroccan-American Free Trade Agreement (FTA), trade between Morocco and the State of Virginia has more than doubled, said Thursday Virginia Governor Timothy M. Kaine.
"Trade has increased from USD 70 million to USD 160 million," said visiting Kaine during a meeting with the Minister of Industry, Trade and New Technologies, Ahmed Reda Chami, and the Minister in charge of General and Economic Affairs, Nizar Baraka.
Pointing out that Virginia ranks fourth among the US States trading with Morocco, he attributed this success to the excellent bilateral relations and the opportunities made possible by the Tanger-Med project.
Governor Kaine, who is leading a large delegation of American businessmen, was briefed by the Moroccan officials about Morocco's reforms and the opportunities the country offers as an export plat-form. By CMC |
