$2.6mln projects in Morocco under way Rabat - Some 32 investment projects, worth 22 billion dirhams (2.6 million dollars), are currently scheduled in various sectors following their approval during the latest meeting of the ministerial commission of investments, Prime minister, Abbas El Fassi, said on Wednesday.
Despite the economic situation marked by an international financial crisis, the growth rate achieved in 2008 stood at 5.4%, El Fassi told 2M TV channel, noting that for the same period, the volume of investments was estimated at 82 billion dirhams (83 projects).
Touching on the traffic code, which has been suspended by the House of Advisers in a bid to reach a consensus on this issue with the social partners, the Prime Minister reiterated the government's will to discuss the points in suspense, notably the increase in the value of tickets, detention periods and the penalty points driving system.
The strike observed by road hauliers has led to serious losses in several vital sectors, particularly in the supply of basic foodstuffs and energy products, El Fassi said, calling on transport professionals to comply with a responsible dialogue on issues relating to this sector. |
