Paris - Moroccan film "Les Damnés de la mer" (the damned of the sea) by Jawad Rhalib was awarded the "Dikalo" for best documentary at the Pan African International film Festival in Cannes (France).
The festival was an opportunity for the public and the movie industry's professionals to discover a wide range of this year's best African films.
Over 40 films were selected, including 15 for the official competition.
The jury, led by director and producer, Nasser Bakhti, awarded South African film "Izulu de lami" (my secret sky) the Dikalo of best feature film; the award in the short film category went to American and Kenyan films, "The birthday party" and "Subira". |
