Now I am confused. I thought Eid was in October this year. Ramadan started in September and Eid comes straight after it?

Looks like I am gettting it all wrong.

You not confused, there's 2 Eids, one after the end of Ramadan/fast month called Eid Al-fitr then Eid al-Adha - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia usually 70 days after the first one

Yes in addition to Eid adha and Eid Fitr there are many other religious events. Byway, we are going to celebrate the new year 1430 after 20 days exactly in December 29,2008.

Which is the most important religious holiday of all?

Christmas is for me, but not in a religious way. I just celebrate the holiday and not the religious aspect.

In fact, we cannot compare religious events in terms of imprtance, but still both Eid Adha and Eid Fitre besides the month of fasting Ramadan the most important ones.
