Natural gas Production starts in Ouled N'Zala Permit well The production of natural gas in a well in the Gharb basin, as part of the Ouled N'Zala Permit, has already started, said on Thursday the state-owned hydrocarbon office (ONHYM).
The well was discovered north-east of Morocco's capital Rabat by the Irish company Circle Oil in November 2008, but production was delayed due to the floods that have hit the Gharb region lately, underlined a communiqué of the ONHYM.
The document also said that Circle Oil has started drilling operations in the fourth location as part of the Sebou permit called DRJ-6.
Late last month, Dana Petroleum Plc had announced a new “significant” gas discovery at Anchois, in the Tanger-Larache licence, which is its first well offshore Morocco.
Two intervals of high quality, gas-bearing sands, were encountered in the well, Dana had said in a press release, adding that the combined gas column encountered was about 90m with about 40m of net pay. By CMC |
