Morocco oil imports in January fall 71.8% It is reported that Morocco’s January crude oil imports stood at MAD 720.6 million, falling 71.8% YoY as compared to the same period in 2008.
According to the figures released by Morocco's Office des Changes, in terms of volume, Morocco imported 278,500 tonnes that is a decrease of 43.1%. This situation resulted from a drop in oil prices on the international market, as the average price of an imported tonne decreased by 50.5%, reaching MAD 2,587 per tonnes in January 2009.
In 2008, Morocco's crude oil imports stood at MAD 30.8 billion, registering a rise of 17.5% relative to 2007. |
