Maybe someone with no hands has mastered that capability.

Default The manners of eating and drinking in Islam

I thought this was interesting:

Following are the manners told by the Holy Prophet Muhammad(Salah) for eating:
1.Wash your hands and grogle before eating.
2.Eat with the intention to get power and strength for obeying all the commandments of Almighty Allah.
3.Eat with your right hand.
4.Eat collectively and not seperately.More hands in one utensil will bring more blessing from Almighty.
5.Be contended and thankful to Almighty on whatever you get for eating and drinking.
6.Eat while sitting on both your feet with your knees bended or sitting on left foot and right calf with knee up or on both calves with both knees bended.
7.Eat after taking off your shoes.
8.Offer the food to the eildest of all persons who are eating.
9.Eat with your thummb and first two fingers if easy or use all your hand.
10.Start with the name of Allah the Benevolent and Merciful i-e recite"Bismillah Hirrahman Nirrahim".In case this expression is forgotten in the beginning of eating, you can recite it in the middle also.
11.Eat from the place in front of you and not from the middle of the plate nor from front of any one else.
12.Do not blow on the food with your mouth.
13.If you have different type of food in front of you ,you can take it from any place.
14.Do not eat very hot food, let it cool down a bit.
15.If some part of food falls from your hand on the eating mat,you can eat it after cleaning and do not leave it for the devil"Shaitan"That would be Said in our case hahaha J/P
16.Ask other muslim brothers to eat with you.
17.If your fellow muslim is still eating, sit with him for company.
18.Offer your cook or servant some food also.
19.Put the food on eating mat.
20.Lick your fingers and clean the utensil with them after eating.
21.Wash your hands and grogle after eating.
22.Thank Almighty after eating.
Following are the manners told by the Holy Prophet Muhammad(Salah)for drinking:
1.Drink with your right hand as left hand is used by the devil"Shaitan"
2.Drink with at least three gulps.
3.Say the name ofAlmighty Allah before drinking and then thank Him after that.
4.Do not blow in the utensil you are drinking from.
5.If you want to share the drink with any one else, start from the person at your right.

On my last trip to Tangiers, I was fortunate enough to be invited to a pre wedding party in my friends neighbours house. This was a first for me and after a long sociable night The food was placed on the table (3,30 am). The first huge plate was beef cooked with prunes and olives, Ive never eaten meat so tender. This was then followed by A huge plate of chicken with my favorite olive and kidney sauce.
We all sat around a round table and ate with our hands.I have to say this was an enjoyable experiance and a very natural way of eating. Everyone was extremely well mannered and polite.
Hopefully I'll be able to make it for the wedding itself in a few months.
