Default Morocco ring the changes

Morocco coach Roger Lemerre has rung the changes in his final 23-man squad for the vital 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ qualifiers in June.

Stung by their surprise defeat by Gabon in their opening Group A match in March, Morocco have had a clean-out of their squad for their next two matches. The Atlas Lions meet Cameroon in Yaounde on 7 June and then host Togo in Rabat on June 20.

Lemerre has turned to local club Wydad Casablanca for five players, including a first call-up for defender Issam Adoua. They are the only locally-based players in his squad. Walid Regragui, who played when Morocco reached the CAF African Cup of Nations final in 2004, was recalled after a solid season in France's Ligue 1 with Grenoble.

Among the players dropped from the side that lost to Gabon are Chemcedine El Araichi, Adel Taarabt, Merouane Zemmama and captain Youssef Safri.

Goalkeepers:
Karim Fegrouch, Nadir Lamyaghri (both Wydad Casablanca), Karim Zaza (Aalborg, Denmark)

Defenders: Issam Adoua (Wydad Casablanca), Mehdi Benatia (Clermont Foot), Mickael Chretien (Nancy, France), Badr El Kaddouri (Dynamo Kiev, Ukraine), Talal El Karkouri (Qatar SC, Qatar), Hassan El Mouataz (Lokeren, Belgium), El Armine Erbate (Al Wahda, United Arab Emirates), Walid Regragui

Midfielders:
Rafik Abdessamad (Wydad Casablanca), Mbark Boussoufa (Anderlecht, Belgium), Kamel Chafni (Auxerre, France), Nabil Dirar (FC Brugge, Belgium), Karim El Ahmadi (Feyenoord, Netherlands), Youssouf Hadji (Nancy, France), Houssine Kharja (Siena, Italy), Younes Mankari (Wydad Casablanca), Marouane Zemmama (Al Shabab, United Arab Emirates)

Strikers: Nabil Baha (Malaga, Spain), Marouane Chamakh (Girondins Bordeaux, France), Mounir El Hamdaoui (AZ'67 Alkmaar, Netherlands)
