One hour will be added to the Moroccan legal time, bringing it up to GMT+1 from May 31 at midnight till August 20.

This measure aims at economising energy through reducing the need for lighting in households and in the different public and industrial sectors by starting earlier in the day and finishing earlier, to benefit from daylight.

It also aims at reducing the time difference between Morocco and its European and international partners.

Normal time will be restored on August 20.

This is also makes a big difference for tourists, 2 hours behind Spain is too much. People get the 9am ferry and arrive in Tanger at 8 am. The shops don't open till 10am +. This hour will make a big difference.
